How to change your DNS or your Domain Name "Nameservers".

Note: If your domain name is NOT stored with us (Registration) you can follow these instructions to TRANSFER your domain name to us FOR FREE.

Note: if your domain name is stored with us, and you have email or website hosting with us, please don't change your default nameservers (ns1.reg.net.au and ns2.reg.net.au and ns3.reg.net.au) as these services will stop working if you do.

Here's how to change your domain nameservers;

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Click on MY DOMAINS.
  3. Choose the domain name you want to change DNS (Domain Name Servers), and click on the green SETTINGS button.
  4. On the left margin menu, choose NAMESERVERS.
  5. Enter your new Nameservers in the first two or three boxes and then choose CHANGE NAMESERVERS.
  6. Your new Nameservers will usually take between 10 minutes and 2 hours to propagate across the internet.

Again, IMPORTANT, if you have paid for Email or Web Hosting with us (Registration), please ensure your domain name nameservers are set to:

  • ns1.reg.net.au
  • ns2.reg.net.au
  • ns3.reg.net.au

If your domain name nameservers aren't set to these records, and you have Hosting services with us, your Registration Hosting and Email service won't work.

Note: If your domain name is stored with a different Registrar or Domain Reseller, you will need to login to their website and find your domain name and then change your nameservers from there.

Note: If you are using WIX, Shopify or another web hosting product, we do not provide support for those services, you will need to follow the instructions from their own websites to point your domain name nameservers and "A" records to the correct locations, as instructed by their service.
